Emulsion membrane systems for preconcentration of uranium

  • 1. Comenius Univ., Bratislava (Czechoslovakia). Dept. of Nuclear Chemistry

Description

Various double emulsion systems with liquid membranes containing tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO), tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP), KELEX 100sup(R) and di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid (DEHPA), as carriers for uranium(VI) pertraction were studied. The conditions were found at which the systems are most efficient, comparing with solvent extraction. The use of DEHPA as a membrane carrier with solutions of Hsub(2)SOsub(4) and Hsub(3)POsub(4) encapsulated in the membrane was substantiated. (author)
