Ferromagnetism of 3He films adsorbed on sintered silver

Description
Nuclear magnetic susceptibility of 3He adsorbed on sintered silver was measured by a superconducting quantum interference detector magnetometer. For the external field of 6 G, the susceptibility increased drastically below 1 mK, but then it did not continue to diverge and rolled off below 0.36 mK (1 G =Λ 0.1 T). We looked for a spontaneous magnetization of the present system under zero field (≤ 10 mG) but have seen nothing down to 0.15 mK. (10 refs., fig.)
