Geometric and magnetic frustrations in magnetically diluted complex oxides LiMO2 (M-Sc, Ga; 3d-elements)

Description
Using LiMO2 (M-Sc, Ga; Fe, Co, Ni) complex oxides as an example one investigated into the effect of the local environment of a transition element atom on the properties of the multilayer ceramics. To elucidate the nature of the interactions within LiMO2 one followed the magnetic dilution procedure. One performed the chemical analysis to evaluate the paramagnetic component content by means of the atomic-absorption spectroscopy. The results of the efforts to study the EPR and the NGR spectra are indicative of the occurrence of d-element local environment anisotropy. The anomalies of the magnetic features of the examined systems are shown to be caused by the occurrence of the nanoclusters consisting of the transition element atoms and by their formation related phenomenon of the magnetic and the geometric frustrations
Abstract (Russian)
На примере сложных оксидов LiМО2 (М-Sc, Ga; Fe, Со, Ni) изучено влияние локального окружения атома переходного элемента на свойства объемной керамики. Для выяснения вопроса о характере взаимодействий в LiМО2 применен метод магнитного разбавления. Проведен химический анализ на общее содержание парамагнитного компонента методом атомно-абсорбционной спектроскопии. Результаты исследования спектров ЭПР и ЯГР указывают на наличие анизотропии локального окружения d-элемента. Показано, что аномалии магнитных свойств всех изученных систем обусловлены наличием нанокластеров из атомов переходных элементов и связанным с их образованием явлением магнитных и геометрических фрустрацийAdditional details
