High resolution photofission measurements in 238U and 232Th
Creators
Description
Photofission measurements have been continued at subbarrier energies. Strong intermediate resonances have been observed at an excitation energy of 6.14 MeV in 232Th. The photons were obtained from the E/sub p/ = 1020 keV resonance in 34S(P,γ). Their average energy resolution was approx. 200 eV. Various properties of the observed intermediate structure were compared with theoretical predictions based on a double-humped and triple-humped barrier
