Sealed radioactive sources: classification
Creators
Description
A system of classification of sealed radioactive sources is established, based on performance specifications related to radiation safety. Tests are prescribed for temperature, external pressure, impact, vibration and puncture over a range of severity. Sealed source performance requirements are identified for a variety of source applications, in terms of a specific degree of severity of each test. Appendices cover leak test methods, quality assurance and control, brachytherapy sources, self-luminous light sources, and special form radioactive material
