Development of a corrosion resistant structural material in an electroreducer

Description

In this study,we investigated the corrosion behavior on a new Ni base alloy system by modifying commercial Inconel 713LC, in a LiCl-Li2O molten salt. During a corrosion test of 9 days, the weight loss of the new alloy was drastically reduced compared to that of the commercial Inconel 713LC. In addition, the corrosion rate of the new alloy exhibited a parabolic pattern. Therefore, it was confirmed that this result satisfies the requirement for a corrosion resistant in engineering materials. From these considerations, it could be concluded that the new alloy system studied in this work is very useful and can be applicable to the structural material of an electroreducer
