On the action of strontium-90 on blood serum glycoproteids of pigs

Description

Serum glycoproteid content of sucking-pigs (large white species) has been studied after oral administration of strontium-90 from the first day after birth until 90th day in doses 1.0 μcurie/kg (1st group) and 10.0 μcurie/kg (1st group). Changes in serum glycoproteids were mainly detected within the first group, in the remote times (in the course of one year), and within the second group (the animals died from radiation sickness on the 52d day), from the first days of the investigation period. Changes in the serum glycoproteid content reflect, to a certain extent, the gravity of radiation sickness
