A model of subcritical crack growth under the action of cold creep and dissolved hydrogen

  • 1. K.E. Tsiolkovskii Moscow Aviation Technology Institute

Description

A model is proposed that may be used as a working hypothesis describing one of the mechanisms of subcritical crack growth with a constant load under the action of cold creep and dissolved hydrogen. An equation is presented that completely and satisfactorily describes the experimental results obtained for Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn alloy after various heat treatments. A comparison of the experimental and calculated values of crack growth rate (hardened and aged, beta-annealed, recrystallization annealed) is presented
