Description
YAlO3:Dy3+ powders activated with Bi3+ ions were synthesized by polyol method. XRD shows that all samples are crystallized to the pure orthorhombic phase of YAlO3. The SEM analysis show that particles are spherically shaped irregularly with a size between 80-100 nm, which may be due to agglomeration. Luminescence properties of Bi3+ and Dy3+ in YAlO3 were investigated in detail. The co-doping of Bi3+ enhances the Dy3+ emission intensities because of energy transfer phenomena which makes it a suitable candidate for LED and display applications. (author)
