Valence state characteristics of uranium at a sandstone type uranium deposit and its significance in in-situ leaching

  • 1. Geologic Party No.216, CNNC, Wulumuqi (China)

Description

The mineralization of uranium at a uranium deposit, in Northwest of China, is mainly pitchblende, and it belongs to the leachable industrial uranium mineral. Some samples were taken from the deposit, and analyzed. It is found that two valence states of uranium element (that is, tetravalence and hexavalence) have different distribution characteristics at the dip and vertical of ore body. This study is helpful for rationally using oxidant at the different positions of ore bodys and different leaching stages during in-situ leaching. (authors)
