Radioactive gas settling device
Description
Purpose: To adjust the ionizing performance so as to correspond to the disposing amount of radioactive gases in a radioactive gas settling device for reprocessing nuclear fuels. Constitution: A cylindrical container introduced with radioactive gases has cylindrical electrodes formed to the inside thereof, and filament and anode opposing to each other formed to the upper and lower ends thereof. A negative voltage at 200 - 300 V is applied to the anode to generate electric discharge between the anode and the filament to perform ionization. When a high negative voltage at 2 - 3 KV is applied to the cylindrical electrodes, the electrode surface is sputtered by gaseous ions to perform coating and gaseous ion injection simultaneously thereby forming accumulated layers. It is possible to adjust the disposing performance by the control for the applied voltage and the disposing device can be operated continuously without repeating actuation or stopping, by which the maintenance is facilitated, the power consumption is reduced and the power saving can be attained.
