Division of analytical signal into half-periods of arcing and correction of results of La and Y determination in geological samples

Description
Dependence of intensity ratio (I+/I-=K) in two half-periods of arc burning on the current intensity and changes of macroscopic composition of the sample basis are studied. Ba, La, Sc, Cr, Cu, Pd and Be which have been introduced in the form of oxides into quartz and granite bases have been investigated. It has been found that easy-ionized atoms the value of K increases considerably with the growth of the current intensity. In the case of direct current the value of K is higher for easy-ionized atoms and lower for medium and hard-ionized ones. The change of the basis macrocomposition is also reflected on the value of K. The analysis conditions change as a result of the change of the current intensity and the basis composition in a number of cases can be presented in the form of linear dependence between I+ and K. It allows possibility of K use for correction of the basis composition effect upon the value of intensity I+. It is demonstrated taking La and Y as examples
