Description
A first report describes the site of the Saint-Alban site and its environment (meteorological data, hydrography, brief history, inspections dealing with releases in the environment), discusses radionuclides and releases (present radionuclides, installation releases, significant events, radiological monitoring by the operator, monitoring by the IRSN), reports the radiological situation of the environment (reference situation for the different components of the environment, installation commissioning and evolution of activities, levels noticed in the environment since 2009), comments studies performed by other actors (on sediments and aquatic plants, impacts of tritium and carbon 14 releases, radioactivity of water, sediments and aquatic plants of the Rhone and its affluents), and discusses the exposure level. The second report proposes a synthesis of atmospheric studies with a presentation of the Saint-Alban Saint-Maurice nuclear plant, a report of a study of tritium levels in the air, and of a study of radioactivity in aerosols at the vicinity of the plant. The third report proposes a synthesis of terrestrial studies with a presentation of the plant, a discussion of the radiological background noise, a description of the sampling and analysis strategy in terrestrial environment, and a presentation of results (regarding tritium, carbon 14, and other radionuclides). The first volume of the next report addresses the environmental and urban operation and more particularly the acquisition of information related to human exposure variables about the plant (administrative presentation of the territory, space and environmental organisation of the territory, urban organisation and operation of the territory, industries and chemical sites, the Rhone river functions), and the second volume presents the results of inquiries on eating habits and daily travels of residents of the territory (food inquiry, time-budget inquiry). The last report addresses the assessment of resident exposure to radionuclides releases by the plant and measured in the environment: presentation of the nuclear plant, exposure of the French population to ionising radiations and radiological background noise, assessment of resident exposure by using radioactivity measures (in the air, in foodstuffs, related to releases by the plant). Power Point presentations of these studies and measurements during meetings are also proposed
