Analysis of the 48Ca(p, n)48Sc reaction at intermediate energies and the structure of nuclear charge-exchange interactions
- 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research
Description
An analysis is given of the 48Ca(p, n)48Sc reaction at proton energies E/sub p/ = 134 and 160 MeV, using a microscopic approach that combines the distorted-wave impulse approximation and structural information on charge-exchange excitations from the theory of finite Fermi systems. The angular distributions and the analyzing powers are calculated for the J/sup π/ = 0+-7+ states in the (πf7/sub //2, νf /sup -1//sub 7/2/) multiplet, as are the inclusive neutron spectra and spin polarization transfer coefficients at small angles in the range 0≤-Q/sub p//sub n/approx. <40 MeV
