Electron temperature and ionization degree dependence of electron transport coefficients in monatomic gases

Description
The electrical conductivity of partially ionized monatomic gases (hydrogen,oxygen, helium, and neon) has been calculated over a wide range of electrontemperature T/sub e/ and ionization degree x (300 0K< or =T/sub e/ < or =30 000 0K and 10-8< or = x < or =1) with Coulomb collisions taken into account. The knowledge of the conductivity allows for easy determination of electron mobility and diffusion coefficient in the plasmas. Limiting degrees of ionization x/sub w/(T/sub e/)= and x/sub f/(T/sub e/) were established, giving the range of plasma conditions where the plasma transport properties can be considered within the limits of weakly ionized or fully ionized models
