Release of RIAR radioactive substance and calculation of dose to the public living in a 100 km zone
- 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Atomnykh Reaktorov, Dimitrovgrad (Russian Federation)
Description
Radiation situation in the area of RIAR location meets the requirements of SP-AES-79. Dose loads to the population behind the three-kilometer zone around the object did not exceed 2.5μSv/year in 1988, i.e. they were at 1% level of the dose limit, specified by SP-AES-79 for NPP aerosol releases (200μSv/year) and equaled 0.25% additionally to the population radiation dose from natural radiation background. The accumulated population radiation dose for all years of the enterprise operation did not exceed 0.25μSv, i.e. it was at the level of 0.8% of the dose received by the population from the natural radiation background
