The GANIL magnet system
Description
The GANIL (Grand Accelerateur National d'Ions Lourds) consists of four accelerators, two injector cyclotrons (CO1 and CO2), two big accelerators (separated sector cyclotrons SSC1 and SSC2). This complex includes as well as four beam lines for the machine and the experimental areas, and special magnets for physicists. The GANIL running started in November and the first physics experiment took place in January 1983
