Description
Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a powerful analytical technique that uses longitudinal plasmonics of noble metal nanostructures. Plasmon peak of Au appears in the visible domain and can be further tuned by engineering sizes and shapes to the near-infrared region which facilitates bio-analytical applications. We present synthesis of Au nanorods (NRs) with different aspect ratios to gain plasmonics at wide range. They are gainfully utilized for the detection of rhodamine 6G (R6G) molecules by SERS study. Resonance Raman was evident for 532 nm excitation light and enabled accomplishment of a sub-nanomolar RG6 detection. (author)
