Description

The short-term survival rate of heavily irradiated lymphosarcoma (LS;BL) cells has slightly increased during 15 years cultivation. Long-term irradiation of LS/BL cells at the low exposure rate of 3.58 x 10-7 C x kg-1 x s-1 did not substantially alter the short-term survival of these cells after acute exposure. Growth into the enlarged forms ('giant' cell formation) after high doses of radiation was limited in the continuously irradiated as well as in the unirradiated LS/BL cell line. (author)
