Study on the dimensional instability of metallic uranium subject to thermal alternation

Description

Methalographic properties of metallic uranium submitted to a thermal cycle are studied. Microstructures heat treatment and methods utilized are presented. Dimensional instability of uranium is the main subject of the study and it is seen that it is strongly reduced in the presence of molybdenum

Sao estudadas as propriedades metalograficas do uranio (em forma metalica) submetido a alternancias termicas. Sao descritos os metodos, os tratamento termicos e microestrutura do material, porem o principal tema estudado e o da instabilidade dimensional do uranio, bastante diminuida na presenca do molibdenio
