Cooling tower make-up water processing in the nuclear power plant Muelheim-Kaerlich

Description
The cooling tower make-up water processing mainly fulfils the task of supplying the power plant with the required quality of water. The construction and functioning of the of the cooling tower make-up water processing system are described, as well as the water-chemical method of sludge separation and demineralization. The new kind of slurry draining plant is designed so as to be able to completely process the thin slurry produced when operating seven presses during thickening upto a crude water pollution value of 200 g TS/m3 in 24-hour operation. Abstract (German)
Die Kuehlturmzusatzwasseraufbereitung (KZA) erfuellt vorrangig die Aufgabe, das Kraftwerk mit Wasser erforderlicher Qualitaet zu versorgen. Beschrieben werden Aufbau und Wirkungsweise der KZA, sowie die wasserchemischen Verfahren der Schlammabsonderung und Entmineralisierung. Die neuartige Schlammentwaesserungsanlage ist so ausgelegt, dass beim Betrieb mit sieben Pressen der in den Eindickern anfallende Duennschlamm bis zu einem Rohwasser-Verschmelzungswert von 200g TS/m3 im 24-Stunden-Betrieb vollkommen aufgearbeitet werden kann.
