Computer simulation of megagauss field generation by a Z-pinch

Description
This paper reports computer simulation of the Z-pinch using a metal liner carried out based on a simple model taking account of the current distribution in the radial direction. The evolution of the current, magnetic field and temperature was calculated as a function of time. A very good agreement was obtained between the experiment and the calculation without using any adjustable parameters. Employing this computer simulation, experimental parameters for obtaining higher fields can be explored
