Description of beam position monitor signals with harmonic functions and their Taylor series expansions
Description
Under most circumstances, appropriately processed signals from electric or magnetic beam sensing systems can be described by the real or imaginary part of the Taylor series expansion of an analytical function of a complex variable. This description can provide very good understanding of such signals and can be used to great advantage for the design of beam position monitor systems. (orig.)
