Enrichment plant compressors for 20-years non-stop operation

Description

The French consortium Gercos was formed to carry out the design and manufacture of the large quantity of specialised motor/compressors required for the Eurodif enrichment plant at Tricastin. The 1400-stage cascade of the separation plant includes 3 sizes of motor compressor, 280 units rated at 600kW, 400 stages rated at 1500kW, and 720 stages rated at 35000kW. Main features of the motor/compressors are given and the conditions under which the compressors are manufactured are described. (UK)
