Investigation of natural radionuclide contents in soil in Heilongjiang Province

  • 1. Heilongjiang Environmental Monitor Central Station, Haerbin (China)

Description

The authors report the methods and results of survey of natural radionuclides in soil in Heilongjiang Province. The collecting points of soil are same as the measuring points of γ radiation dose rate of environmental ground. 331 soil samples were collected and analysed by γ-spectrometry, of which 250 points were sited in uniformly distributed networks of size 50 km x 50 km and 25 km x 25 km. The results show that the area-weighted mean of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K was 26.2, 22.0, 42.3 and 546.0 Bq·kg-1, respectively. The point-weighted mean of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K was 26.2, 22.2, 43.0 and 561.7 Bq·kg-1, respectively
