Crystal chemistry of lead thorium orthophosphates

Description
Three double orthophosphates, with congruent melting, have been revealed by D.T.A. and X-ray diffraction for the molar ratios Pb3(PO4)2/Th3(PO4)4: 1/2, 1/1 and 7/1. Pb3Th6(PO4)10, isostructural with Msup(I)Th2(PO4)3 monoclinic orthophosphates, contains vacancies for Pb and Th cationic networks according to Pbsub(0.9)(vacancy)sub(0.1) Thsub(1.8)(vacancy)sub(0.2) (PO4)3. PbTh(PO4)2 is isotypic with monazite (Ce, La)PO4. Pb7Th(PO4)6 has an eulytite, Bi4(SiO4)3, type structure. The crystallographic data and the substitutional mechanisms of these compounds are precised

Trois orthophosphates doubles a fusion congruente sont mis en evidence par A.T.D. et diffraction X pour les rapports molaires Pb3(PO4)2/Th3(PO4)4=1/2, 1/1 et 7/1. Pb3Th6(PO4)10, isotype des orthophosphates monocliniques Msup(I)Th2(PO4)3, presente deux sous-reseaux cationiques lacunaires selon Pbsub(0.9)(lacune)sub(0.1) Thsub(1.8)(lacune)sub(0.2) (PO4)3.
