Description
For investigations of minor actinides (Np, Am, Cm) and Pu burning the DOVITA program was developed in RIAR. Within the framework of this program it is proposed to use 'dry' fuel reprocessing technologies and vibro-packing technology for the fuel cycle of an Actinide Burner Reactor. The preliminary investigations are carried out. The investigations with nonirradiated materials were carried out for evaluation of the pyro-electrochemical methods applicability. Method of granulated MOX fuel production, with Pu contents more than 30 % is tested. The cycle of investigations on preparation of fuel, containing Np, from molten salts was conducted. The pyro-electrochemical methods for Am introduction in oxide fuel are developed. Other RIAR research directions of RIAR on actinide transmutation are briefly described. (authors)
