Description
Charge exchange recombination processes (CXR) have been expected to be one of the schemes to demonstrate X-ray laser. We have tried to realize X-ray laser due to CXR in a non-equilibrium plasma. The non-equilibrium plasma is produced by an interaction of ultra-short, high intensity pulse laser and cluster target. We investigated a production efficiency of highly charged ions in nitrogen cluster plasma by using spectroscopic method. Moreover, in order to increase the cluster size, leading to high-temperature and density plasma, a cluster beam source was designed, constructed and tested. The spectroscopic measurements of cluster plasma and the characteristics of the developed cluster source are described in detail. (author)
