Description
Full text of publication follows. As part of the risk mitigation approach for all the graphite reactors decommissioning works; EDF has decided to implement an industrial demonstrator. This testing facility will host mock ups of the internals in order to demonstrate the feasibility (normal configuration, degraded modes,...), to qualify the methodology (performance and limits), to optimize the scenario by testing alternative technologies, to manage the operational rates, and to optimize the main tool deployment system known as the dismantling platform. This physical facility will be supplemented with 3D virtual models for additional computer simulation. Chinon A2 will be the first of the EDF graphite reactors to be decommissioned, but the facility will also be used to develop similar testing programs for other graphite reactors. (authors)
