Structure and strength-plasticity relations in alloys strengthened by step aging

Description
Taking as examples ageing alloys on the basis of aluminium, nickel and iron with intermetallic and carbide strengthening it has been shown that the step ageing results in a relatively low decrease or preservation of plasticity at a simultaneous strength increase. It is conditioned by the creation of the structure characterized by homogeneous distribution in the alloy volume of even-size particles. The influence of elastic stresses near precipitations and the values of recovery on the step ageing are discussed
