The action of fast neutrons and their place in radiotherapy of malignant neoplasms
Description
The author reviews the modern views on the use of fast neutron beam in the clinical radiotherapy of patients with malignant neoplasms. On the basis of literature data the presently accumulated experiences are discussed in the aspect of radiobiological, physical, technical and clinical problems, and the conclusions are outlined pertaining to the future development of neutron radiotherapy which is available now in only few oncological centres in the world. Certain Polish problems related to this new method are mentioned. (author)
