Description
The general aspects of the safety design concept, the activities to be taken for merging and reconciling the safety standards required by France or Germany, and the global safety standard of the EPR that is aimed at are discussed in this paper. The author focusses on the design concept envisaged for the management of operational transients or accidents and also refers to the management of serious accidents. (DG)

Die generellen Ueberlegungen zum Sicherheitskonzept, zur Vereinheitlichung von Sicherheitsanforderungen zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich und zum globalen Sicherheitsniveau des EPR werden vorgestellt. Das Konzept zur Beherrschung von Betriebstransienten und Stoerfaellen wird praesentiert und auf die Beherrschung schwerer Stoerfaelle eingegangen. (DG)Additional details
