Description
R and D activities carried out in BARC over the last few decades have contributed immensely in the indigenisation and improvisation of PHWR technology. The Indian PHWR design has evolved from initial 220 MWe RAPS with Canadian collaboration to completely indigenous 700 MWe PHWR through a series of improvements over the last five decades. India, today, completely owns this technology as it has mastered all the aspects of this technology – Design, Construction, Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance and Decommissioning
