Process of obtaining the ceramic uranium dioxide from products of hydrolysis of uranium hexafluoride and appreciation of its technological application
Description
The hydrolysis products of the uranium hexafluoride as an ammonium poliuranates contain about 2% of the fluorine. It must be decreased to the contents of 150 ppm in the next stage of the process. It was found that it is possible to obtain the required ceramic uranium dioxide by reduction, and defluorination at 8500C, in hydrogen, nitrogen and vapour of the water atmosphere. The experiments, in the laboratory scale, were carried out in the periodic process. The apparatus was of own construction. (author)
