Description

The production of a low current 14C beam (5 nA) and the acceleration in the Munich MP tandem is described. The beam has been produced from a Fe314C pellet used in an off-axis back-sputter geometry of a cesium-beam sputter source. Only 1 mCi(=0.225 mg) of 14C is needed to deliver a 14C beam for several days (>= 100 h). (Auth.)
