High-Frequency Oscillator Based on Nano Graphene

  • 1. Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, Departamento de Física (Brazil)

Description

In this work, we propose an oscillator model based on carbon nanostructure. This model was built using three graphene sheets, in which the central sheet is free to move. From classical molecular dynamics, we studied the dynamic behavior of the stacked graphene sheets of five different sizes at temperatures of 75 K and 300 K. With quantum calculations, we observed the fluctuations on frontier energy states. Our results indicates that the sheet oscillate in frequencies of 200 to 400 GHz and could be measurable.
