Use of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT) additive for delaying the chemical degradation of solvent during uranium recovery from acidic sulfate media

Description

This presentation summarises a research experiment to determine possible chemical degradation of solvents used for uranium processing. Step one was the inducing of solvent degradation and step two the protection of solvent by using BHT. The experiment results shown with graphs and tables confirmed that solvent protection by the BHT additive is effective, however it does generate cruds that cause solvent loss.
