Latitude dependence of auroral frequency in relation to solar-terrestrial and interplanetary parameters

Description
The auroral frequency of occurrences (A) for the 20th solar cycle and for the geomagnetic latitudes 540 - 630 N is investigated in relation to sunspot numbers, number of flares, the solar wind stream derived from the coronal holes and the geomagnetic index. The relationships between A and the other indices are found to be strongly latitude dependent. At around 570 - 580 N a drastic change in this relationship occurs; an attempt is made qualitatively to evaluate this latitudinal variation
