The development of transport PRA techniques

  • 1. SRD, AEA Technology, Culcheth (United Kingdom)

Description

The IAEA is supporting the development and application of probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) techniques and data for radioactive material transport safety assessment. This paper outlines PRA methodology, lists some of the benefits and problems in its application to transport, and describes current research programmes. It is concluded that although a good deal of development remains to be done, interest and progress are encouraging. (author)
