Thermodynamic analysis of beryl glass crystallization

  • 1. Ural'skij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Sverdlovsk (USSR)

Description

Thermodynamic analysis between 848 and 17000K is used to demonstrate the prior exclusion of unbound beryllium oxide during thermal crystallization of beryllium glass. The theoretical calculation is confirmed by experimental results. Beryllium glass contains regions enriched in silica and others similar in composition to beryllium oxide. (author)
