Description

This study confirms applicability of so-called twice-slope method that is one of the limit analyses to evaluate collapse or plastic buckling, to cylindrical structure of core internals even when it has cracks. Three cylindrical test specimens with radius to thickness ratio equivalent of core shroud were used for monotonic loading test with various condition of cracking to confirm applicability of twice-slope method. The other two specimens with duplicate condition of cracking and different range of loading were used for cyclic loading test to confirm conservativeness of design margin for limit load even considering cyclic effect of seismic load.
