Further studies on translocation of Ga-67 from transferrin to ferritin

Description
The translocation of 67Ga-, bound to transferrin (TF), to ferritin (FE), an iron storage protein, was studied. Chromatography was used to separate TF bound to 67Ga from FE bound Ga67. The addition of ATP and other phosphate-containing compounds was shown to enhance the translocation of 67Ga from TF to FE. An explanation of this phenomenon is put forward. (U.K.)
