Natural crack lengths and crack growth resistance curves in fibre-reinforced composite materials
Description
Monotonic loading and loading-unloading curves coupled to a dye penetrant marking technic were used to afford natural crack lengths in two types of fiber reinforced composite materials, 2D C-SiC and 2D SiC-SiC, by using three point bending tests. These crack lengths were used to evaluate compliance calibration curves and to obtain crack growth resistance curves. (orig.)
