Process and device for accelerating condensation of the steam produced during an accident from the pressure vessel of a water cooled nuclear reactor
Description
In case of an accident, the steam from the PWR is taken away via lances under the water surface of the condensation area. In order to accelerate condensation, water is added via pipes projecting sideways into the lances. The kinetic energy of the steam carries the water over and produces a fog. (DG)

Im Schadensfall wird der Dampf aus dem DWR ueber Lanzen unter die Wasseroberflaeche des Kondensationsraumes abgefuehrt. Zur Beschleunigung der Kondensation erfolgt eine Zufuhr von Wasser ueber seitlich in die Lanzen hineinragende Leitungen. Die kinetische Energie des Dampfes reisst das austretende Wasser mit und erzeugt einen Wassernebel. (DG)Files
