Influence of production conditions on structure of amorphous iron base alloys

Description

Comparison of phase state of sheet, powder and bulk specimens of Fe40Ni40B20 and Fe70Cr10P13C7 amorphous metallic alloys (AMA) is carried out. Structural peculiarities of powder AMA including absence of shoulder at the second maximum of the structural factor and break of the function of radial distribution can be described by cluster refinement in the model of close package of tetrahedrons based on icosahedron with the number of atoms equal to approximetly 13. Application of high stresses is required besides convectional heat treatment for transition of powder AMA to the phase state close to that in sheets
