Study of semileptonic neutral current events of ν - and anti ν - interactions in the CERN SPS narrow band beam by the CERN-Dortmund-Heidelberg-Saclay-collaboration
Description
Results are reportet of the study of neutral current events in the range of 12-200 GeV incident neutrino energy. The ratios of neutral to charged current cross sections are found to be R(ν) = 0.293 +- 0.010 and R(antiν) = 0.35 +- 0.03 for hadron energies above 12 GeV. The space time structure of neutral currents is dominated by V-A, with a significant admixture of V+A. The Weinberg-Salam model is in agreement with all data if sin2upsilonsub(w) = 0.24 +- 0.02. Abstract (German)
Es werden Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung der Ereignisse mit neutralem Strom fuer Neutrinoenergien zwischen 12-200 GeV angegeben. Fuer das Verhaeltnis der Wirkungsquerschnitte zwischen neutralen und geladenen Stroemen ergibt sich R(ν) = 0.293+- 0.10 und R (antiν) = 0.35 +- 0.03 bei Hadronenenergien oberhalb 12 GeV. Die Raum-Zeit-Struktur der neutralen Stroeme ist vom V-A-Verhalten bestimmt, mit einer deutlichen V+A-Zumischung. Das Weinberg-Salam-Modell stimmt mit allen Daten ueberein, falls sin2upsilonsub(w) = 0.24 +- 0.02. (orig.)
