Description

The National Institute for Radioisotopes at Fleurus, Belgium, IRE, is an institute of public interest owned by the Belgian federal government. The first article of the statutes stipulates that IRE has to produce and condition radioisotopes in the general interest of population and industries. In 1978 IRE started the production of 99Mo, unquestionably the most important radioisotope for the nuclear medicine community
