Description

Conditions have been studied for solvent extraction separation of rare earths and yttrium from aluminium by 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazolone-5 and for their spectrophotomertic determination with arsenazo 3. A method has been developed for determining activation agents of rare earths and yttrium in charge and single crystals of magnesium-aluminium spinel. The most simple and convenient procedure of converting the compounds into solution consists in their melt using lithium metaborate as flux. The method makes it possible to determine from 5x10-3 to 2x10-1% of rare earths or yttrium in test samples with a relative standard deviation of not greater than 0.05
