Influence of high values of base plus fog in the quality of radiological image

  • 1. Pontificia Univ. Catolica do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, RS (Brazil)

Description

This paper demonstrates how important is the Quality Control in X-ray clinics and departments. Specially, in case of Bf density, some factors must be monitored: processor parameters, dark room condition, chemicals, film storage, operators training and film quality. Bf greater than 0.30 should be avoided, because it impairs the diagnostic, resulting in film waste, repetition of examination, wear and tear of equipment and excess of X-Ray dose absorbed by the patient and operator.
