Cancer mortality of subjects exposed to ionizing radiation in the course of their work. A resume of epidemiological studies

The author gives the results of the most recent epidemiological surveys carried out on persons exposed to ionizing radiation in the course of their work. These reports all unanimously show that the present pathology of workers in the nuclear power sector has no extraordinary characteristics and that the mortality of subjects exposed to radiation is no different from that of the reference population. The author emphasizes that long-term risks appear to be nil and, if they do exist, are too slight to be detected

Abstract (French)

L'auteur presente les resultats des enquetes epidemiologiques les plus recentes effectuees sur les personnes professionnellement exposees aux rayonnements ionisants. Ces etudes s'accordent a montrer que la pathologie actuelle des travailleurs du ''nucleaire'' ne presente aucune particularite et que la mortalite des sujets exposes aux rayonnements ne differe pas de celle observee dans la population temoin. Les riques a long terme, observe notamment l'auteur, sont apparemment nuls, et s'ils existent, trop faibles pour pouvoir etre mis en evidence
